(D) Before 1912

There are very few maps which cover the area of Pollokshaws available, possibly due to it being outwith the boundary of Glasgow until 1912.  Two examples that have been sourced can be found below.

Fig 21 Painting of Shawlands dated 1830. Shawlands is the village in the distance with the road possibly being Pollokshaws Road.  Farmland and hill area of Shawhill at the right hand side.

Fig 22 1863 map showing  Coustonhill, Shawhill and Coustonholm as houses in what appears to be farmland. This corresponds with the description given by Hugh MacDonald (MacDonald H 1860)
